THE LAW OF ACTION
When you aim for success in your business, you need to put in the required actions. What do we call Action? According to the definition found in Oxford, Action is the fact or process of doing something, typically to achieve an aim. This little definition took me a long time to understand and implement into my daily business activities. I taught, if my story was excellent, and I can identify my audience, things would work out according to plan. But today, I know that a philosophy like that is nothing more than a bunch of bullshit.
Sitting without taking any action to pursue your goal will only limit your success. Action cures many ailments and especially many ailments of prospecting. Successful prospecting requires massive action; it requires you to have a plan in place and a target market.
The law of action is not necessarily going to knock on your door, it should be part of your action plan. You need to think of the law of action as activities; activities that enables you to beat your competitors to their game. Your business can specialize in many activities at a time, but using the basic five activities like Phone call practices, Email practices, Social media, Asking questions, and seminars can go a long way in differentiating your company.
But do you know that even if you take this five activities and implement them, there is a 90 percent about 0.9% probability that your competitors can copy you? True, it is impossible to copy you totally, but they could still study you and come darn close.
Let us make a little calculation: If you multiply (0.9 activity 1) X (0.9 activity 2) X (0.92 activity 3) X (0.9 activity 4) X (0.9 activity 5), means that your competition were able to copy you with 90% probability (0.90) X (0.9)X (0.9) X (0.9) X (0.9), they would only have about 53% chance of success. So, the more activities you have, the less probability they have on copying. Imagine if you implemented 10 to 20 activities? It becomes more difficult for your competitors to keep up with the pace of your success. It will take you time to master, but in the end, it's all worth the wait.
The other thing is, on the sixth try, there is a 90% success rate when calling on someone, which means on the very first time of calling, you have a low 30% on getting in front of somebody, but if you do not relent, your success rate goes up exponentially every time you try. When you get to your sixth time, you begin to experience a 90% success rate on this attempt.
So make the law of action one of your major activity because when you make use of the law of action on its segmentation and build it around your story, you will find that you are more successful.
You also want to be prolific, you want to be pervasive, and you want to be possessed in your prospecting activities.
